2018 Family Photos and Merry Christmas!

We did not send a Christmas card this year.
There is an element of guilt in that.
I love sending and receiving Christmas cards each year.
But this year, among the hustle and bustle, something just had to give.
So, don't take us off your list...we will be back nest year!  :)

Until then,
Merry Christmas from the Osier family!

Myrtle Beach 2018

We took our first week long family vacation.
It was the kids' first time ever seeing the ocean.
They loved it.  We loved it.
It was an amazing and relaxing week!

The kids traveld amazingly well as usual.
All of those trips to visit grandparents in Iowa and
North Dakota prepared them well.

They were so content with just sand and water for hours!

Breakfast and coffee on our balcony was a favorite.

Walking along the beach and searching for shells and shark teeth.
We found LOTS of shells, but no shark teeth.

Besides the ocean we had a private pool which the kids loved.
Both of them became much more comfortable in the water.

They never had trouble falling asleep, but apparently
Jacobi had a little trouble staying in bed;)

We had an amazing view and didn't want to leave at the end of the week.

This only lasted about 5 minutes but I thought it was so cute that he
wanted to read his beloved Boxcar Children while sitting on the beach.

Washington DC

Washington Monument

The place where President Lincoln died(across the street from the theatre where he was shot)

The Capital

The National Art Museum

National Air and Space Museum

The White House

The Bureau of Engraving & Printing
(we took a tour and learned how paper money is made)

The Lincoln Memorial
We had a great 2-day visit to Washington DC.  Grandma Dee & Aunt Ali came for a week prior to Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday with us.  We decided to take a spur of the moment trip to DC since they had never been(nor had Jacobi or Kaia) and it is just 4 hours from our home.  We wanted to pack in as many of the sites as we could which resulted in a walking 10 miles the first day and between 4 & 5 the second.  We had a great time but our feet and legs were tired by the end...and, Mommy & Daddy's backs were sore from offering piggyback and shoulder rides to little ones that needed a break!

Niagara Falls

A fun two-day trip to Niagara Falls!

Such an incredible sight!

We took a short cut back to our hotel which required carrying the stroller:)

Little legs needed a break from walking.

A ride on The Hornblower into the mist of the Falls.

A night view up close.

The kids thought the colors were pretty neat.

We figured a vacation isn't a vacation without some ice cream, so after eating a platter of 50 wings at
Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY(the site of the original buffalo wings)
we headed to Anderson's Frozen Custard.
We went home with full bellies and fun memories!

The kids traveled well with the help of audio books, movies, books and naps!

Celebrating Kaia's 5th Birthday!

Grandma Pat came for a visit the week Kaia turned five years old!
We enjoyed a special birthday meal of
grilled pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, and peas!
The birthday cake was Treatzza Pizza from Dairy Queen...Yum!

Presents!!

The day Grandma Pat flew home, Grandma Dodie & Grandpa Jeff arrived by car to help us celebrate the birthday girl with another party!  We enjoyed the cooler Fall temperatures with an outdoor Frozen themed party, complete with Pin the Tail on Olaf and an Anna & Elsa piƱata!
Kaia is blessed to have such loving grandparents and kind friends to help her celebrate turning five!

Until now Kaia has been content to use her Cinderella dress as her "Elsa dress",
but now she has the whole outfit complete with light up heals and a crown!
