Niagara Falls

A fun two-day trip to Niagara Falls!

Such an incredible sight!

We took a short cut back to our hotel which required carrying the stroller:)

Little legs needed a break from walking.

A ride on The Hornblower into the mist of the Falls.

A night view up close.

The kids thought the colors were pretty neat.

We figured a vacation isn't a vacation without some ice cream, so after eating a platter of 50 wings at
Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY(the site of the original buffalo wings)
we headed to Anderson's Frozen Custard.
We went home with full bellies and fun memories!

The kids traveled well with the help of audio books, movies, books and naps!

Celebrating Kaia's 5th Birthday!

Grandma Pat came for a visit the week Kaia turned five years old!
We enjoyed a special birthday meal of
grilled pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, and peas!
The birthday cake was Treatzza Pizza from Dairy Queen...Yum!

Presents!!

The day Grandma Pat flew home, Grandma Dodie & Grandpa Jeff arrived by car to help us celebrate the birthday girl with another party!  We enjoyed the cooler Fall temperatures with an outdoor Frozen themed party, complete with Pin the Tail on Olaf and an Anna & Elsa piƱata!
Kaia is blessed to have such loving grandparents and kind friends to help her celebrate turning five!

Until now Kaia has been content to use her Cinderella dress as her "Elsa dress",
but now she has the whole outfit complete with light up heals and a crown!

Ohiopyle State Park/Cucumber Falls

September 12, 2017
We enjoyed a spur of the moment trip to Ohiopyle State Park/Cucumber Falls.

We let Daddy be the brave one to venture over some crazy big rocks to get a closer look of the river.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch on a rock next to the river.

After touring the Falls we spotted a number of caterpillars along the fence.

Jacobi once picked up a caterpillar similar to the one pictured below
and broke out in hives the following day.
We learned it is an American Dagger Moth and is poisonous.  Who knew?!

We drove on the grounds and then back out again after learning Kaia was not old
enough to tour the house.  We enjoyed the view from the brochure;)

An Annual Fall Tradition

Since we have been married it has been our tradition to go to an apple orchard to pick our own apples & then make an apple pie to enjoy with some vanilla ice cream later that day!

Simmons Farm (Canonsburg, PA)

After apple picking we headed to Olive Garden & enjoyed a "free" lunch thanks to a gift card!
Here Daddy is helping Jacobi slurp up a long noodle;)

Peeling, coring & slicing some apples for a pie!

 The finished product!

Happy 3rd Birthday Kaia!

It's hard to believe that our baby girl is 3 years old!
We continued our tradition of making a homemade cake the night before.
Mommy baked & frosted the cake and Daddy decorated it.
Kaia loves the show Doc McStuffins & one of the characters on the show is "Lambie"which Kaia pronounces "Wambie".  Daddy did a great job making a "Wambie" cake for our special girl.

Kaia's birthday meal included pork tenderloin, Miss Peggy's Mac 'n Cheese & corn on the cob.
Kaia chose a princess banner, napkins & plates for her party.

The picture Daddy used to draw Lambie on the cake.

Mommy prepared the canvas;)

The finished product.

Enjoying some cake & ice cream!

Being bashful as we sang to her:)

Opening her presents.  She got Duple blocks from Mommy & Daddy.
